Fred and Della Cruz have been making these wonderful figurative baskets for a number of years. Using a foundation of bear grass wrapped with yucca (white and green) and devilsclaw (black), and utilizing their amazing imagination, they continually surprise us with the next whimsical creation.

Fred and Della’s latest creation. Desert animals (coyote, tortoise, and a mama and baby javalina) dancing around a saguaro. 11 inches tall and 8 inches wide. $400.

Squirrel! With a hat and carrying a basket. 6.5 inches and SOLD. Next is a saguaro cowboy, wearing leather chaps and a removable hat. 7 inches tall and $160. The bronco rider seems to be hanging in there. The saguaro behind him is 9 inches tall. $185. Last in this row are two ducks wearing hats. They are approx. 8.5 inches from beak to tail. $95 each.

Next is a bighorn sheep walking by a small saguaro 7.5 inches tall and $158. Last is a woman carrying a basket on her head. The basket is fully woven and removable. 9.25 inches tall and $220.

A Tohono O’odham woman with a traditional giaha or carrying basket. 8.5 inches tall and 10 inches wide include carrying basket. Two miniature baskets are being carried in the giaha and are included. $320. Another woman with a carrying basket. This one is just under 8 inches tall and $160. Next is a coyote walking next to a saguaro. 9 inches totop of saguaro and is $120.

A winsom pup-dog by Fred and Della, 2.5 inches tall. SOLD. Their desert tortoises have removable shells. The large one on the left is 6.5 inches tall with a 6 inch shell. $120. The next one is 4 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. $82.
