This particular carving represents the Anak'china or Long Hair katsina who in turn represents the spirit of the summer rains - specifically the long gentle, life-giving drizzles. The long hair represents the rain as one can sometimes see it wisping down from the clouds, almost like a brush stroke. 13 inches to the tip of the parrot feather that symbolizes the direction south from where the summer rainstorms originate, the price is $270. |

The Saiastasana is the Zuni Rain Priest of the North, who will appear with the Rain Priest of the South during the Zuni Salako ceremony. Both beings also appear at Hopi but in the Spring and in a completely different religious context. An amazing 25 inches high, it was carved by Randy. $800. |

Hololo by Randy Brokeshoulder. It measures a full 18 inches high. $575. The Hololo katsina's name comes from the sound he calls out. Another name for him is Muuyawkatsina or Moon katsina. He is also called a Muyawve which refers to the crescent or moon designs beneath his eyes. |
