Tohono O'odham horsehair baskets seem to have their start in the 1930s thought they had been working with horsehair to make bridles, ropes, belts and even hatbands before then.

This beautifully executed basket is by Sharon Truong from Ga:ka village. She has been weaving baskets since age 11 and unlike many horsehair basket weavers, she also does split stich and cover stich yucca baskets. It measures just under 2.5" and is $160SOLD

Veronica Velasco made the lighter colored lidded basket which is .8 inch across. $15

The small lidded balck baset is by Josephine Miguel. Just over 1/2 inch across, it is priced at $12.
